Generic Quests
Generic quests are quests which can be declined, and which will repeat in a cycle. Any time there is not a higher priority quest available to be shown in one of the two available quest slots, a generic quest will be presented.
Being familiar with the generic quest cycle for your chapter can help you use the quests more deliberately to gain additional coins and supplies when they are needed. You can continue declining generic quests to cycle through them until you get to one you can complete.
Find the list of generic quests by chapter along with some tips for how to make the most of them below.
Note that the cycle may not be exactly the same for the entire duration of a chapter; some quests do not begin appearing until certain other conditions are also triggered, such as completing a specific story quest or researching a specific technology.
Some Quests require different goods depending on a players’ assigned production boost. If you are not sure how to identify which goods are your boosted goods, see Boosted Goods.
*Please be aware that quests listed may not all appear to all players or in the same order to all players; precise quests offered may vary based on game-play decisions made.

Chapter I Quest Cycling Tips
- When you are low on coins, use the quest to gain 100 of your boosted goods. It’s worth 20,000! Have a fellow post a ‘trade-back’ – 2 equal trades that cancel each other out. Gaining goods through the trader counts for the quest!
- When you accumulate a decent amount of goods and supplies, hit the map! Earn some KP to keep progressing through the chapter.
- Complete encounters 3 at a time, after cycling to the “solve 3 encounters” quest.
- Don’t complete the last encounter in a province until you have the “complete a province” quest active.
- Before logging off the game (and after putting your builders to work!), cycle to the “Complete a building upgrade to level 4 or higher” quest, and you’ll have some extra coins and supplies when you return.
- When you return to the game after a longer absence, cycle to the “collect 5000 coins” quest. Collect from just enough houses to get to 5,000. Save the rest so you can continue using this quest again and again for a nice boost in supplies.
- Do NOT complete the quest to “Use Power of Provision 1 time” until you have plenty of coins and supplies, and you are ready to give up this easy way to gain more.
Once this quest is completed, the chapter I generic quests will be replaced with the chapter II generic quests. There are several benefits to delaying the completion of this quest:
- You can continue using the “collect 100 [of your boosted good]” quest for extra coins.
- Continue using the “collect 40 [of your non-boosted good]” quests for extra coins and supplies
- Once you do complete the last chapter I quest, several quests will come up in a row already completed for a nice boost in coins and supplies when you need it most!


This quest is the last quest in the chapter 1 quest series. Completing it will trigger your quest cycle to turn over to the chapter 2 quests.

Chapter II Quest Cycling Tips
- There are several optional story quests presented before the chapter II generic quests, some which may be a bit more difficult or take a while longer to complete. When deciding whether to complete or decline these, don’t limit your consideration to the reward for each individual quest. It’s also important to consider the rewards you are missing out on by not having access to generic quests you can cycle through to get more rewards when you need them. It may be more strategic to skip past some of these.
- As in chapter 1, when you are going to be away from the game for a while, before you log out, set your builders, and then cycle to a quest to complete an upgrade to have some extra coins and supplies waiting for you when you return.
- “Research Advanced Scouts” is the last story quest for chapter II. Completing this quest will trigger the Chapter III generic quests.

Chapter III Quest Cycling Tips
- Don’t count on cycling for many extra supplies during this chapter. Make sure you’re visiting daily and getting the most out of your workshops.
- Don’t feel the need to rush through the optional story quests that will precede the cycle as you first get into chapter 3. There isn’t much of a cycle you’ll miss out on by hanging onto these quests a little bit longer.
- The best way to take advantage of quests will be to remember to set an upgrade quest before you log off, and to make sure to remember to bring up an encounters, fighting, or ‘complete a province’ quest before completing any of these actions.
- Once the ‘2x advanced tools’ quest and the ‘6x advanced tools’ quests are added to the cycle later in the chapter, you can earn more supplies on your workshops by always setting them for 3 hr productions, even if you plan to be away from the game for a longer production. Completing each of these quests will net more supplies than the difference between the total production amounts for the 3 and 9 hour options, especially if the 2x advanced tools quest is used more than once.
- “Research Advanced Scouts” is again the last story quest for chapter 3, and completing this quest will trigger the chapter IV quests to begin.

Chapter IV Quest Cycling Tips
- Try to get your production high enough to meet the required amounts for each of the ‘collect goods’ quests.
- You should be able to collect enough goods to satisfy this quest at least once when collecting 9 hr productions.
- If you can meet the requirements of these quests with 3 hr productions, even better.
- This will help you gain several more supplies each time you collect goods.
- Continue setting workshops on 3 hr productions to take advantage of the “Produce advanced tools” quests.
- If you are not ready for your goods quests to change to the higher required amounts for the chapter V quest cycle, hang onto the last story quest in chapter IV a little while longer. The last quest is the quest to research the ancient wonders.

- You should be able to collect enough goods to satisfy this quest at least once when collecting 9 hr productions.

- This will help you gain several more supplies each time you collect goods.
- Continue setting workshops on 3 hr productions to take advantage of the “Produce advanced tools” quests.
