Other Upgrades in
ELEMENTALS Chapter

The following upgrades are unlocked throughout the Elementals Chapter:

RESIDENCES

Residence upgrades will be challenging this chapter with their change in size and shape.

As with all other guest race chapters, we gain 2 new levels, and will be able to upgrade Residences to levels 28-29 once unlocking the required research.

Making room for residences to get shorter and wider may be challenging. You’ll need some room to shift things about as you work through upgrading them all.

Since the residences grow in size, you can afford to sell a few as you upgrade them, which can help make some room to complete those upgrades.

1 level 27 Residence provides as much population as you can gain with 5.5 residences upgraded to level 28, and roughly 3.7 residences upgraded to level 29. This means as long as you don’t sell more than 1 per every 4 you upgrade, you will about break even.

In order to gain enough of an increase to meet the chapter needs, you’ll want to avoid selling more than 1 for about every 7 that you upgrade.

Most players will be
able to afford selling
approximately 1 Residence
for every 7 Residences upgraded
to the new maximum level.

  • Of course the exact number will vary a bit from player to player based on their city balance and available population.
    • Adjust this number up if you rely on residences for more than 65% of your total population needs, or if you have low available population (less than 1,000) going into the chapter with all upgrades completed.
    • You can adjust this number down if residences make up less than 65% of your total required population, or if you have a lot of available population (4,000 or more) going into the chapter.

WORKSHOPS

Workshop upgrades will be relatively straightforward this chapter since they do not change in size or shape.

As with all other guest race chapters, we gain 2 new levels, and will be able to upgrade Workshops to levels 28-29 once unlocking the required research.

MAIN HALL

The Main Hall upgrade will be relatively straightforward this chapter since it does not change in size or shape.

The total cost to upgrade your Main Hall both levels is:

  • 2,132 Population
  • 2,466 Culture
  • 860,000 Mana

1ST TIER MANUFACTORIES

All 1st Tier manufactories change size and shape when upgrading from level 23 to level 24. All but planks manufactories but keep their same orientation.

Costs per level are exactly the same regardless of race or manufactory type.

The total cost to upgrade a single Manufactory from level 23 to 27 is:

  • 3,212 Population
  • 723 Culture

Because the manufactories grow in size this chapter, many players may find they need to reduce the total number of Tier 1 Manufactories they have in their city by at least 1 in order to have enough space and population to be able to upgrade the rest.

  • Example; if you have 7 steel going into the chapter, you might consider reducing to 5 steel and 1 planks for a total of 6 Tier 1 manufactories by the end of the chapter.
